Frequently asked
- Where do most nomads incorporate?
- There is no universal answer — clients and tax residency dictate the best choice. Estonia e-Residency suits EU service providers. US LLC suits US-client services with non-US residents. UK Ltd suits UK clients. UAE Free Zone suits high earners willing to spend on substance.
- Does where I incorporate change where I pay tax?
- Usually not by itself. Your personal tax residency still applies. The company structure changes whether profits stack inside a company, get distributed, or pass through. Pair the company with the right personal residency for it to actually save tax.
- How much does each option cost to maintain?
- Estonia e-Residency: ~€300-700/year accounting plus state fees. US LLC: ~$300-1,500/year (5472 filing). UK Ltd: ~£500-1,500/year. UAE Free Zone: $3,000-7,000/year+. Cyprus: similar order. Pick what your revenue can comfortably support.
- Is Estonia e-Residency really useful for nomads?
- For EU service providers billing other EU clients, yes — clean invoicing, EU VAT handling and a real EU company without local employees. Profits taxed only on distribution makes it attractive for reinvesting. Less of a fit for non-EU clients.
- When is UAE Free Zone worth it?
- When your personal income is comfortably six figures, you can spend the required time in UAE, and the lifestyle suits you. Below that, the substance, residency and yearly fees rarely beat simpler EU options.
