Frequently asked
- Which Latin American city has the best nomad community?
- Medellín remains the densest nomad hub (Poblado, Laureles). Mexico City has more local depth and culture, and Buenos Aires has come back strong thanks to a cheap peso. All three have weekly nomad events.
- Which is cheapest in 2026?
- Buenos Aires (depending on the peso), Medellín, and Lima sit at the low end. Mexico City’s prime neighbourhoods have priced up significantly; you can still go cheaper outside Roma/Condesa/Polanco.
- Is safety a real concern in LatAm cities?
- You apply normal big-city awareness: stay in nomad-friendly neighbourhoods, use ride-hail at night, do not flash valuables. Within those rules, Medellín’s Poblado, CDMX’s Roma/Condesa, Buenos Aires’s Palermo are very safe.
- Which LatAm city has the strongest visa pathway?
- Mexico’s temporary resident visa is the most established route nomads use for multi-year stays. Colombia’s newer digital nomad visa has income thresholds. Argentina, Peru and Chile offer simpler short/medium routes.
- How is internet across LatAm cities?
- Generally excellent in nomad neighbourhoods — 100-500 Mbps fibre in good Airbnbs and coworking. Test the specific apartment before booking longer than a week. Carry a backup eSIM for the day the home wifi fails.
